April Showers
April Showers deserve to be celebrated
"April showers may bring May flowers" is a familiar English expression, but few people realize that it originated from a 16th century English farmer and poet, Thomas Tusser. April Showers refers to the spring rains and downpours experienced in some parts of the Northern Hemisphere. This is due to the position of the jet stream, the fast flowing air currents in the atmostphere, which moves Northward in early Spring, allowing large depressions to bring torrential rains and blusterry winds from the Atlantic. April showers can trigger changes to the landscape at a moment's notice from springtime sunshine to wintery sleet and snow.
This is a tribute to April Showers and the many surprises Mother Nature brings.

Raindrops are such funny things.
They haven't feet or haven't wings.
Yet they sail through the air,
With the greatest of ease,
And dance on the street,
Wherever they please.
